Sharif Osman Hadi
Hadi, 32, was a prominent leader of Bangladesh’s 2024 student-led uprising.
He acted as a spokesperson for Inquilab Mancha, or “Platform for Revolution”, and was planning to stand as a member of parliament for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the Bijoynagar area of the city in the upcoming elections, expected in February 2026.
Hadi was also an outspoken critic of India, where Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled following the uprising last year, and its influence on domestic politics in Bangladesh.
HADI was not a slogan. HADI was a standard.
HADI stood for honesty, transparency, skill, justice, and courage. He believed that a nation cannot survive on emotion alone—only skill, evidence, and hard work can build dignity.
He lived by Insaf (justice) in personal life, family life, and national vision.
Vision of the State
A discrimination-free, justice-based welfare state where dignity, accountability, and equality are guaranteed for all citizens.

Vision of the State

যদি কারো কাছে এক পয়সা চুরি না করে, চাদাবাজি না করে, ডাকাতি না করে নির্বাচন করি, তাহলে তো আমাদের পরাজয়ের কোন কারণ নাই — এটা হলো সততা।
অনেকে জিজ্ঞেস করে ৫০০ ভোট পাবা? আমি কমেন্টে রিপ্লাই দেই — এত ভোট পয়সা ছাড়া পাওয়াটাই তো বিজয় — এই বিজয়ের নাম সততা।
এর মানে পয়সা ছাড়া ৫০০ ভোট — ভাই চিন্তা করতে পারেন? আমরা এটাই বলতে চাই সততার মাধ্যমে।
আমাদেরকে যদি আপনারা কেউ হারাতে চান, সততায় আমাদেরকে হারাতে পারবেন না।

If we contest the election without stealing a single penny, without extortion, without robbery, then there is no reason for our defeat — this is honesty.
Many people ask, “Will you get 500 votes?” I reply in the comments: getting even that many votes without money itself is victory — that victory is honesty.
That means 500 votes without money — can you imagine that, brother? Can you even think about it? This is what we want to say through honesty.
If any of you want to defeat us, you will not be able to defeat us in honesty.
I give this challenge — Inshallah — based on honesty.

Communicated well, not disrespectful
Mother feared for his safety (legitimate fear)

8. Family Life with Insaf
- Balanced wife, sister, and mother — the hardest balance on earth
- Took his wife (in niqab & hijab) to protests
- Shared jokes, love, respect — not domination
- Acknowledged his failure as a husband during critical moments of his wifes pregnancy and delivery
- Publicly appreciated his wife’s sacrifice and support
👉 Relationship was loving, equal, and respectful
9. Commitment
- Many broke promises
- Only Awami League kept their promise:“We will kill opposition and return with worse repression”
- HADI also kept his commitment
- Truth must be acknowledged, even when uncomfortable
